Identifying Internet Outage
As a home internet user, you might not observe any visible signs of any problem. First of all, you would see that your home wireless is having good signal, also your computer is Ok, no issues there.
You might call other persons at home who might be using the internet and all of them confirmed that they are facing the same internet disruption.
This increases your curiosity, and you want to start walking towards the optical network termination point in your house where your internet service provider has provided the fiber optics-based internet. You start looking into the light colors of the device and bingo! You found the issue!!
Internet Outage investigation
The issue was that the internet connection status LED light was showing RED color. This clearly shows that there is a problem with your internet service provider (ISP).
You informed the rest of the family members at home that there is a likely internet like problem from the ISP. However, just to double check, you restarted the power of the device and allowing all the LED lights to come back up.
All of the remaining came up, but the internet connection LED still came up RED. At this point in time, you decide to call the ISP customer care number to log a complaint with a ticket number and how soon the internet connection could be restored.

However, to your utter surprise, all of a sudden, the internet connection LED light became green, internet was restored, yeah!! Guys, the internet service is back, you shouted out to family members at home.
All of them nodded their heads and confirmed that yes internet service is back, and they are able to use it normally. This raises some interesting questions, why the internet went away and how it came back?
Did it happen automatically, or someone did take action to restore it? With all these queries in your mind, you might want to go back to your place in home where you were using internet and resumed your activities work and entertainment while enjoying back the restored internet service.
You might also want to make a conscious effort as if nothing happened and this is all business as usual.
